TWO alleged burglars have appeared in court accused of going on a two-month burglary and car and quad bike theft crime spree across West Somerset and other parts of the county and in Bristol.
The pair were said to have committed house burglaries, thefts of high performance cars, and drug and driving offences on various dates in April and May of this year, some of which happened a West Somerset village.
Ronnie Roberts, aged 18, of Lawrence Weston, Bristol, was accused of burgling a house and stealing a Range Rover Sport vehicle in Tolland, near Lydeard St Lawrence, on April 16.
He also faced three other charges of aggravated taking of a motor vehicle causing damage on April 22, using a motor vehicle without insurance on the M5 motorway at Almondsbury, Bristol, on May 11, and driving without an appropriate licence on the M5 at Almondsbury on the same date, May 11.
Daniel O’Sullivan, aged 31, of Montpelier, Bristol, was accused of theft and attempted theft of quad bikes and possession of cannabis and a knife.
O’Sullivan was charged with a house burglary and theft of a quad bike from a farm in Redhill, North Somerset, on May 6, attempted theft of a quad bike in Wrington also on May 6, possessing an offensive weapon in private place, namely a knife, and possession of cannabis, both on May 12.
The pair were also jointly charged with committing a house burglary in Stoke Bishop, Bristol, in which car keys were stolen on May 8 and on the same date in the same place stealing Audi RS3 and BMW 3 Series crs.
Bristol magistrates committed both men to stand trial in Bristol Crown Court on June 19 and bailed them with conditions including an overnight curfew and electronic tags.
