A MINEHEAD woman will be taking part in the London Marathon on April 24 – even though she broke both her arms in an accident last month.

Lisa Clarke, 38, is determined to cross the finishing line to help the charity that gave her daughter and whole family an experience they will never forget – the Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, which makes wishes come true for children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.

She applied last September and started training seriously, until she fell and broke her right wrist and fractured her left arm during a fundraising event.

“I’ve wanted to do the marathon for a long time and decided this was the year,” said Lisa, who is manager at Broadlands Retirement Home in Minehead.

“I won’t be able to run as much as I did before but I will cross that finishing line some way or other.”
