SIR — I couldn't believe I was reading a serious letter from a visitor to Dunster (Free Press July 22). I was bemused to read that this person thought it would be appropriate to move the Yarn Market to make way for free flowing traffic. I know we have a parking problem but isn't that a bit extreme? I gather that as a Mediaeval village we haven't kept up with the times regarding traffic flow! Thirty odd years ago when I first moved here there were no traffic lights and it was a regular occurrence to sit in a traffic queue for half an hour or more. I think the charm of our village encompasses everything and that includes the Yarn Market. As for the comments about where they would like to see it situated, I couldn't put in writing as I live very near to where they think would be an ideal spot! My message to them is - leave our mediaeval village to us if you can't accept its quirkiness. I know where I like living! Pam Pluck, Park Street, Dunster.
