A SAUCY summer romp is coming to Cleeve Abbey and Crowcombe Heathfield as part of Taunton Thespians’ 2017 outdoor tour.
The Thespians are telling four of Chaucer’s tales – the Wife of Bath’s, the Miller’s, the Reeve’s and the Nun’s Priest’s – all jauntily translated into modern rhyming couplets by Jeremy Secker.
They are easily understood and enjoyed but, being somewhat ribald, are not suitable for under 11-year-olds.
They will be at Cleeve Abbey on Saturday (July 15) and, supporting SSAFA, at Hartwood House, Crowcombe Heathfield on July 22.
Eight other venues are on the tour which starts in Taunton on July 11 A and ends at Hartwood House. Picnickers may arrive from 6pm and the show starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets bought in advance are valid for any venue and are available on line from the Taunton Thespians website, Taunton Visitor Centre on 01823 340470 or on the door.
