I sincerely hope that Grace St Clair’s letter (Free Press April 6) was written with tongue in cheek.
Many teachers live at some distance from their school and it is therefore impossible for them to travel when there are adverse weather conditions. It is not about clearing the school parking places.
Secondly, teachers are just that - they are not a free childminding service. Your child is your responsibility and finding alternative care when school is closed is down to you ,the parent.
Thirdly, I am appalled that Ms St Clair has so little respect for teachers that she feels they should be prepared to sleep, presumably on the floor, overnight when there is a warning of bad weather.
