Town clerk Jo Grellier said she had also been researching and organising the purchase of a speed indicator device (SID) and the process of installation.
Ms Grellier said she was awaiting police confirmation of dates for fitting the SID with a data capture box to monitor traffic speeds.
Somerset Highways had also been asked for a full safety assessment of the Harbour Road and Swain Street junction following ‘grave concern’ among councillors for drivers’ safety, and an explanation of why a mini roundabout could not be created.
