SILVER Bear winner at the Berlin Film Festival, among many other awards, System Crasher (Cert 15) will be screened at the Minehead Regal on Tuesday April 5 at 7.30pm.

The film is a compelling and emotionally powerful drama about a troubled nine-year-old, unofficially called a ‘system crasher’ by social services because they are unable to cope, and her wild quest for love.

Helena Zengel gives an extraordinary central performance as Benni, whose untamed energy proves hard to handle.

Tickets for the subtitled film cost £5 (Regal Film Society members, Friends, students £3) may be booked in advance online and at the Regal box office (Tel 01643 706430) between 9.30am and 12.00pm or by telephone only from 1.30pm to 4pm, Monday to Saturday.

The Regal bar will be open for refreshments from 7pm. Some Covid restrictions remain in place to ensure that audiences and volunteers are protected. Everyone is asked to use the hand sanitiser provided and wear a face mask at all times, except when eating or drinking.
