A RENEWED appeal has been made by Minehead Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) for shop volunteers with summer fast approaching.

The charity wants to bolster numbers as the station’s shop will open on most days between 10 am and 4 pm.

It needs more volunteers to meet visitors and demonstrate the range of RNLI products, and is looking for people who can commit to a regular 3.5-hour fortnightly shift, or for flexible back-up.

Shop manager Alison Hersey said: “This is a rewarding opportunity to meet new people, support a vital lifesaving service, and be part of a welcoming community.

“We are ‘One Crew’ at Minehead, and you will be directly helping to save lives at sea.”

Anybody interested should call Alison on 07706 965401 or visit the shop.
