THE first family dog show held on Watchet’s War Memorial Recreation Ground on Sunday (May 17) proved a great success despite the wet weather.
Seventy individual dogs took part in 10 classes which were judged by Dr John Gage, of Glenmore House Veterinary Surgery, and Karen Minto, regional co-ordinator for the Cinnamon Trust animal charity which helps older people.

The practice agility course also proved to be a great hit with people and their four-legged friends.
The champion dog was ‘Bobby’, owned by Frankie Baro, who won the Sara Summers Trophy.
Watchet Mayor Cllr Loretta Whetlor opened the event and town crier David Milton provided a running commentary.
Organiser Lori Lee said: “We are delighted with the local response to this event and it raised over £550.”
