OVER 100 residents and staff from nursing and residential care homes in and around the Minehead area were treated to a festive lunch at West Somerset College on Tuesday.

A large team of year ten and 11 students worked tirelessly, escorting guests to their seats and serving a buffet lunch.

There was musical accompaniment from staff members, Alex McGuinness, Steve Bray and Phil Keenan.

Additional musical entertainment was provided by talented students Sarah Scyner, Rolando Charnock and Jack Evans.

Father Christmas, aided by three smiling elves, took a break from his extremely busy schedule to attend the party and presented gifts to all the guests.

The afternoon was rounded off with a game of bingo and a sing-along of popular Christmas songs.

The college thanked Tesco, Alcombe Pharmacy, The Arcade, Atwest and Minehead Marquees for supporting the lunch.
