WEST Somerset Stroke Club members could soon be back on the road after their stolen minibus turned up safe and sound - in Hampshire.

The vehicle was taken from Vennlands in Minehead last month and at the end of last week the club was told the minibus had turned up and appeared to be in one piece.

It is currently being examined by police before being returned to the club.

Hilary May, co-founder of the club, said they were thrilled the minibus had been found and thanked everyone who had offered help after it was taken.

“From everyone in the West Somerset Stroke Club, a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past three weeks following the theft of the bus.

“We were told late Thursday afternoon it had been found and was in a garage on the Berkshire and Hampshire border and it was intact.

“We’re hoping to get it back before the club starts again on September 16,” she said.

No additional details about the theft were available from Avon and Somerset Constabulary before the Free Press went to print yesterday (Thursday).
