Staff were inundated

SIR — I attempted to post a number of items at the post office in Minehead on Tuesday after the Easter Bank Holiday and found the branch closed.

I was met by a sign stating that the branch would be closing at 3.30pm with no reason given.

No wonder the post office is in the state it is. How can one justify closing a main branch directly after a bank holiday?

I had to travel to the branch at Alcombe where the staff were inundated and the queue out of the door.

However, the staff were a credit to the post office - professional and service with a smile, and within a matter of minutes further counter staff were called in from home.
