ADVENTURER and explorer Bear Grylls was in Minehead this week for the annual Christians’ Spring Harvest festival.

Grylls, who is a worldwide Scouts ambassador, was a speaker for a session at the conference, which is being held in the Butlin’s holiday resort.

He spoke openly about how his relationship with God gave him strength and purpose, even when life gets tough.

His mentor and fellow special forces veteran Sir Ranulph Fiennes, known as the world’s greatest living explorer, lives on Exmoor, not far from Minehead.

Grylls is also an ambassador for The Prince’s Trust, which provides training, financial, and practical support to young people in the UK.

As well as being one of about 90 speakers at the five-day conference from Monday to Friday (April 14 to 18), Grylls was also promoting his new book, ‘The Greatest Story Ever Told’, which will receive full release globally later this summer.

Grylls talked about the new book and shared how his faith had shaped his incredible journey in life.

A Spring Harvest spokesperson said: “Bear Grylls blessed us today as he shared every reason to dive into his latest book ‘The Greatest Story Ever Told’.

“It was amazing to see so many leaving the session with signed copies and the biggest grins we have ever seen.”

Spring Harvest is held in Butlin’s every Easter and combines an annual holiday for families with Christian worship, teaching, and inspiration.

The unique event allows Christians to gather together to be refreshed spiritually, and to be inspired to ‘make a difference’.

The spokesperson said: “We are passionate about creating space for God to do his awe-inspiring work in and through us all.

“We work to inspire and equip Christians to grow confident in their faith.

“We believe in the power of God to transform lives and communities.”
