I read with interest M Conrad’s letter on slowing traffic (Free Press April 20).

Very well intentioned I’m sure, but believe me, traffic humps won’t make a scrap of difference.

I live just behind Blue Anchor on a small estate with narrow roads. We have four humps.

Undeterred drivers, many of the non-residents, hurtle through at an alarming rate, bouncing over the bumps in total defiance.

Incidentally, our roads are also private and a shortcut to nowhere, so “joy-riders” are also trespassing.
