A PICK-up truck was driven through Minehead with a dangerous front wheel which was seen to be cutting grooves in the road surface and causing sparks to fly, magistrates heard this week.

Prosecuting solicitor Emma Lenanton said the grey Ford Ranger was found to be in a condition likely to cause danger of injury to people when it was stopped on October 15 last year in The Parks.

The driver, Michael Webber-Griffiths, aged 28, of Whitworth Road, Minehead, admitted the offence when he appeared in Taunton Deane Magistrates Court on Monday (May 11).

Webber-Griffiths had his driving licence endorsed with three penalty points and was also fined £153 and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs and a victim fund surcharge of £61.
