Somerset West and Taunton's motorists will have seven road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A30, from 8pm October 27 2022 to 5am April 4 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to 31 mobile lane closures for drainage works.

And a further six closures will begin over the next seven days:

M5, from 9pm January 16 to 6am January 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 26 lane closures for electrical works.

M5, from 9pm January 16 to 6am January 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 26 to 27 - lane closures for survey works.

M5, from 9pm January 19 to 6am January 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 26 to 27 - lane closures for survey works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
