A CONTRACT has been awarded to deliver Somerset County Council’s service promoting healthy weight, physical activity and healthy eating.
The new service will be supported by the Zing Somerset website, with information on all sorts of organised physical activities in the county, which anyone can browse by town or postcode.
The new service will mean Somerset’s residents can get access to the expert advice of a healthy lifestyle team, including health trainers, active lifestyle officers and children and families workers.
The contract has been awarded to Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership (SASP) and Somerset Community Food (SCF).
SASP will provide advice and information on physical activity while SCF will provide healthy eating advice. Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust will provide weight management services as well as support for other lifestyle issues.
