Alan, a life long agricultural worker, is the longest serving poppy seller in the area, and has collected over £18,000 for the charity. His territory consists of Brompton’s outlying farms and cottages where they contribute generously each year.
His father served in World War One and a brother was in World War Two.
Chairman Peter Donnelly, who presented the Legion awards, said that his branch was most grateful to the dedicated team of poppy volunteers who work so hard each year.
