He added: “Visit Exmoor is in a very good place and is really punching above its weight as a destination management organisation.
“I would love it if somebody local to the Exmoor area would succeed me in this role and help to take it to the next level. I will, of course, be around to ensure a smooth transition and if anybody would like an informal chat about the role please contact me.”
