A CRASH on the A39 in West Somerset closed a section of the road during the morning commute and school run period on Thursday (September 7).
Long delays were experienced by motorists on their way to work and parents taking children to school.
The accident happened between the Washford Cross roundabout junction with the B3190 and Huish Lane, in Washford.
The traffic congestion also affected local bus services with both the No 28 and 15 buses being delayed.
The road was reopened shortly before 9.30 am and traffic began to flow again.
No information was available about any casualties resulting from the incident.
