TOWN councillors in Wiveliscombe have been putting the finishing touches to this year’s Christmas lights switch-on event.
The switch-on will take place at 6 pm in The Square on Friday (November 28) with Wiveliscombe Town Band providing musical entertainment.
Many of the town’s shops will be open late with festive food and drinks available from a number of outlets before and after the switch-on.
Santa will be visiting Wiveliscombe Community Centre from 4 pm onward with small presents to meet younger children.
The Town Hall will be open from 4.30 pm for people to meet trustees and learn more about their investment plans over the next few months.
It will also be an opportunity to find out more about volunteering and people will be able to sign-up to help the Town Hall charity.
Food and drink will also be available in the community centre, while the Bear Inn will have a gazebo in The Square with festive hot chocolate, mulled wine, mulled cider, and local ale.
A large Christmas tree, from Langford Lakes, will form a centrepiece of the festivities and there will also be a Jim Laker Stand, and Christmas music from Wivey Wind Band.
