A PRESENTATION of a framed poem opened a meeting held by Dementia Alliances across Avon and Somerset.
It had been written by the members of the Forget Me Not Café, who meet at The Sanctuary in Watchet.
The poem, written with the help and encouragement of Pete Stevenson, known as Pete the Poet of Watchet, ends “A Sanctuary full of love”.
It was presented by Margaret Tatham of Watchet DAA to the town’s new Baptist minister, the Rev Mike Sherburn.
Among the speakers was Dr Jennifer Bute, a former GP now living with dementia, who is a well known broadcaster, writer and advocate for dementia awareness.
She is pictured in the centre with Margaret and Rev Sherburn, on the left, with Avon and Somerset dementia forum and Forget Me Not Café team members.
