THE A39 by Tropiquaria zoo has been fully re-opened in time for Dunster by Candlelight tonight (Friday) and tomorrow after work on the new roundabout at Washford Cross was completed last week.

EDF Energy worked in partnership with Somerset County Council, West Somerset Council and contractors Aggregate Industries to design and construct the roundabout.

The new roundabout, which replaces a crossroads linking the A39 and B3190, forms part of a £16 million package of road improvements paid for by EDF Energy to provide a permanent lasting legacy from the Hinkley Point C development.

It will also serve a new EDF Energy park and ride facility which will be built to the West of Williton in a former lorry park off the B3190.

The park and ride will be used by workers travelling from the South and West of the Hinkley Point C construction site.
