TIMBERSCOMBE residents marked Armistice Day with a knitted tribute in remembrance of those who sacrificed their lives during wars and conflicts.
The knitted memorial features 700 poppies which have all been knitted by hand.
It is pictured displayed on the green opposite Magna Housing’s Orchard Bungalows sheltered scheme in Timberscombe. The display was organised and put out by John Goodall and Archie Dyer.
Danielle Jennings, community warden at Magna, said: “Residents have been working really hard over the last three months to make the poppies to mark Remembrance Day.”
Makers of the poppies were Timberscombe and Minehead residents Phyllis Goodall, Valerie Sharpe, Marion Gibbs, Sheila Ridd, Bobby Lovelock and Joyce Smith.
“We’d like to thank Jewsons for donating the timber, board and cement to create the final display and Owen Rush, owner of Cowbridge Sawmills, for making the cross,” said Danielle.
