THE life of Frank Morgan was commemorated with a short ceremony held at Williton Community Hospital by the League of Friends.
Frank founded the League of Friends in 1970 when the hospital was housed in what is now Sir Gilbert Scott Court.
He was later heavily involved in the building of the hospital on its current site and was made life president of the league in 1991.
Up until a few years ago, when he was forced to slow down through ill health, he was a hard working and tireless member of the League of Friends but continued his interest and support until his death last year aged 98.
He and his wife Vera moved to Luxborough shortly after the war, taking on the shop. They ran it, and later the post office, for 22 years. They later moved to Williton to take over the much larger post office there.
He had the Royal Maundy Award for services to the church and an MBE.
During the ceremony, a photograph of Frank was unveiled and his son Guy placed a plaque by a tree planted in the hospital grounds in Frank’s memory.
