STAFF at the Old Ship Aground pub have helped to prove this year's Minehead raft race was a truly record-breaking affair.
A barbecue held at the pub on the day of the race raised a staggering £1,000 for the RNLI - twice the amount raised last year.
In turn, that pushed the total raised on the day to almost £5,000 - which was £2,000 more than the previous year.
The race is organised annually to raise money for Minehead lifeboat station and attracts participants from all over the country.
