CARHAMPTON Gardening Club’s annual flower and produce show on Saturday September 1 saw entries lower overall than in recent years with several classes not having any exhibits, but the quality was high and made for a good show.

Several exhibitors repeated past successes - Dave Hutchins won the pot plant cup for the sixth year running, Stuart Heesom won the photography trophy for the third time in a row, and the Chrysanthemum Bowl was won for the second year running by Jim Moon.

Jacky Fletcher won the Allotment Trophy after her inaugural success last year, having already come first in the section two years ago before a trophy was awarded.

Greta Thrush presented the cups.

The club expressed thanks to judges John Keal for fruit and vegetables, Chris and Judy Yates flowers; Jan Ellis flower arrangements, Fiona Plumstead preserves, Pauline Davis cookery; Sarah Williams photography and handicrafts and Jim Moon wines.
