SAND clearance on Minehead sea front has been carried out weeks after town councillors agreed to spend up to £5,500 on the operation
In-house council staff removed hundreds of tonnes of sand blown onto the Esplanade by storms.
Councillors want the town looking as nice as possible with the tourism season about to peak as schools break up for their summer holidays.
Later, staff installed new tree benches along The Avenue, replacing some which after years of service had reached the end of their useful life.
A spokesperson said: “It is a great example of the incredible variety of work the team undertake.
