MINEHEAD Amnesty group is holding a letter-writing sessions on Wednesday afternoon, February 14.
The letters are a core part of Amnesty International’s work.
Letter-writers may help free a woman in El Salvador serving a 30-year sentence after giving birth to a stillborn baby and therefore being suspected of having had an abortion.
A letter could prevent the execution of a 65-year-old man in Japan who has spent 24 years in solitary confinement despite his mental disability. He does not understand his punishment and cannot instruct a lawyer.

The session is from 2pm to 3.30pm at the Quaker Meeting House in Bancks Street. All are welcome, and newcomers are given advice.
