Yeovil MP David Laws is looking into problems experienced by newsagents throughout the constituency.

A recent campaign by the National Federation of Retail Newsagents highlighted increasing problems such as delivery monopolies and red tape.

David Laws is writing to all newsagents asking if they feel they are being exploited by the large wholesale companies providing newspapers.

The Office of Fair Trading has decided to review the Industry Code of Practice for the supply of newspapers, and David Laws wants the voices of local newsagents to be heard as part of the investigation.

Sub-postmaster and newsagent Andy Heal of Westfield Post Office, Yeovil, was the first one to be handed Mr Laws' questionnaire.
