A RENEWED appeal by police last week for any information about a missing West Somerset teenager produced ‘a good response’ with leads which were being followed up.

Freddy, 17, left his family home on a farm in Stolford, near Stogursey at 10 am on September 20 and has not been seen since.

But a police spokesman said since the new appeal there had been a number of possible sightings reported to them.

The ‘sightings’ were said to be throughout the Westcountry.

The spokesman said: “We are following up on each of these reports and are keeping Freddy’s family updated as searches continue.”

The search has involved more than 100 police officers and staff as well as Coastguards, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, and the search and rescue Burnham Area Rescue Boat.

The police helicopter, drone unit, and specialist search dogs have all also been involved in the operation.

Freddy is described as 5 ft 9 ins tall, of slim build, with short brown hair, and when last seen was wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans, and brown ankle boots.

Anybody who sees Freddy is asked to call 999 immediately and use the reference 5222227588, and anybody with any information about where he might be is asked to call 101 quoting the same reference number.
