PORLOCK is bursting at the seams with good citizens, particularly those of the four-legged variety.
More than a dozen dogs and their owners were presented with bronze and silver Kennel Club Good Citizens' certificates in recognition of their good behaviour.
Pooches had to reach specified standards in obedience, while owners had to answer questions on dog ownership and laws before achieving certificate standards.
Initially, 13 pets were presented with silver certificates, with the remaining five being given bronze awards.
However, just a matter of weeks later, the five bronze recipients upgraded to silver standard.
Dog Partnership instructor Julie Dare said it was a "remarkable achievement".
The awards were presented by West Somerset district councillor for Porlock, Cllr Angela Palmer.
Achievers included: Libby Portch and Toby and Monty, Beth Horstman and Canis, Sue Heasman and Bonnie, Linda Richardson and Hitchcock, Julie Dare and Willow, Peter Bailey and Poppy, Sue Martin and Tara, Betty Hills and Tess and Polly, Lauren and Soux, Stella Bull and Hazel and Carol Johns and Pepper.
