CHILDREN as young as six months old are being signed up for a summer reading challenge in Porlock.
Libraries across the country are running the challenge from July through to early September to encourage youngsters to read, or have read to them, six books during the school summer holidays.
Porlock Community Library hopes to sign up 100 children and has already reached 91, including the six-month-old, whose family will read to her.
Each child who reads six books will receive a certificate and a medal, and any who do not live in Porlock will also be given a library card which they can use on future visits.
