VISITORS to Porlock this summer will find their way more clearly marked after the village carnival helped fund new signage.

Porlock Carnival Committee donated £225 towards new and replacement advertising boards for Porlock Visitor Centre.

A new permanent board will be placed outside the visitor centre and other boards will be used on the approaches to the village to advertise upcoming events.

They are currently being designed and are planned to be ready by early summer.

This year’s Porlock Carnival takes place on Saturday September 3 with the annual Porlock Duck Race, which raises funds for the carnival, taking place on Sunday May 29.

Any organisation that would like to be considered for a carnival donation should contact the carnival committee chairman Nigel Southwood on 01643 862978.

Carnival committee member Lis Lewis is pictured presenting the cheque to visitor centre staff Jenny Carter, Wendy Dorrill and Anna Toeman.
