PARENTS in Minehead have been alerted to ‘an approach’ made by an ‘elderly man’ to a pupil on their way home from school.

Minehead Middle School headteacher Laura Mackie said police had been informed of the incident, which happened last week.

The pupil’s parent told the school the man was in a silver colour car.

Mrs Mackie said: “This report has been passed on to the police, who are aware of the situation.

“At this stage, we have no further information from them, but we remain in regular contact and will update you if any new details are shared with us.

“In school, we have and will continue to speak to the children in a calm and age‐appropriate way about keeping themselves safe.”
