SIR — I would like to thank the public spirit of those who gave of their time to restore Watchet paddling pool.
I spent many happy hours playing there as a child, when the sun always seemed to be shining!
What a contrast to Minehead beach.
My late husband, and indeed our two girls, enjoyed a 'doggy paddle' as youngsters, in the Minehead paddling pool.

Sleepless night and roads blocked as hundreds gather for rave on hills above MineheadNow alas, children have to wait for the tide - in spite of many assurances I received from councillors during the sea front refurbishment, the paddling pool was never replaced.
Would it be too much to ask that they earmark some of the grants they have recently been awarded, to bringing back the paddling pool? I am sure it would be a welcome attraction for visitors.
