SIR — May I appeal to your readers to donate any spare knitting wool they have to help two animal charities.

I and my friend Denise Darrell knit items to raise money for the animal charity shop in Minehead's Blenheim Road and for Battersea Cats and Dogs Home, and we need as much wool as we can get.
