PLANS for the redevelopment of Minehead's Clanville car park and nursery site have been lodged with West Somerset District Council's planning department. The proposals put forward by Barratt Homes include a residential development of 60 units ranging from one bedroom apartments to three bedroom town houses, together with private parking and a 40-space public car park. The 40 spaces, which would include three disabled parking bays, would be located at the entrance to the development off Martlett Road, with the private car parking spaces for the houses and flats further away towards the back of the site. An existing pedestrian access would be retained to the public car park, while a new link could be created to improve access to the steep site. The residential development itself would comprise a mix of one-and-a-half, two and two-and-a-half storey buildings set around a landscaped square.
