And West Somerset Council’s planning committee has been asked to approve a change of use for the listed building and to give permission for massive alterations, four flats, car parking and an open space connecting The Avenue with nearby Blenheim Gardens.
The application stresses that all work on period structures will as far as possible employ materials, workmanship and skills identical to those used in the original construction.
It is also intended to use the project as a craft training-ground to teach young craftsmen traditional skills.
