PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks, and other works.
Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.
Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council for the West Somerset and Exmoor areas:
• Higher Combe Drive, Dulverton, will be closed on Friday, October 3, from the hours of 9.30am to 3.30pm to enable Barr Engineering Ltd to carry out pole replacement works on behalf of Openreach.
• Station Road, Crowcombe, will be closed between Monday, September 15, and Friday, September 19, to enable Wessex Water to replace water main.
• Church Street, Timberscombe, will be closed between Monday, September 29, and Friday, October 3, to enable Wessex Water to carry out new connection works.
• Heathpoult Cross to Goosemoor Cross and Goosemoor Cross to Blagdon will both be closed from Tuesday, September 30, to Wednesday, October 8, in order to enable Kiely Bros to carry out pre-surface dressing patching works on behalf of Somerset Highways. The closure will be in place each day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm.
• Thorne Lane, near Cutcombe, will be closed from Monday, September 15, to Tuesday, September 16, between the hours of 8am to 5pm to enable Kier to carry out barrier replacement works. on behalf of Somerset Highways.
• Frogwell Cross to Withywine Lane, Skilgate, will be closed on Tuesday, September 16, between the hours of 9.30am to 3.30pm to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement works.
• Wheddon Cross To Bridgetown Road, Exton, will be closed on Tuesday, September 16, between the hours of 9.30am to 3.30pm to enable Openreach to carry out pole testing works.
• Great House Street, Timberscombe, will be closed from Tuesday, September 16 to Friday, September 19, to enable Wessex Water to reline clay pipe and access manhole.
• High Street, Dunster, and Church Street, Dunster, will be closed from 7pm on Monday, September 29, to 7am on Tuesday, September 30, to enable Walton Civil Engineering to carry out interim to permanent reinstatement gas mains works on behalf of Wales & West Utilities.
• A temporary 30mph speed limit will be put in place on the A39 Williton to Bridgwater Road, Nether Stowey, between 9.30am to 3.30pm on Monday, September 15, to enable Openreach to carry out pole testing works.
