PUBLIC notices cover a number of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks, and other works.

Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.

Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council for the West Somerset and Exmoor areas.

Vehicles prohibited on Cleeve Road

Notice is given that Somerset Council made the order to introduce a prohibition of motor vehicles on the length of B3191 Cleeve Hill, Watchet, with the order coming into effect from Friday, November 7.

This means that no person shall cause any motor vehicle to enter, proceed, or wait on the road. The order will not prevent cyclists or pedestrians from accessing the road.

B3191 Cleeve Hill will be closed from a point 5 metres west of the junction with Saxon Close for a distance of 220 metres.

Dulverton planning application could affect public right of way

A proposal has been made which may affect or be adjacent to a public right of way in Dulverton.

Application 6/9/25/019 proposes the erection of a small agricultural shed and moveable chicken coop retrospectively at Millham Lane, Dulverton.

Chestnut Way closure

Somerset Council have announced that Chestnut Way, Minehead, will be closed from near its junction with Staunton Road for a total length of 59 metres.

This order has been put in place to enable Openreach to install a new pole.

These works are expected to only take place on Tuesday, November 11, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm.

Polling works to close road in West Quantoxhead

Works to enable Openreach to carry out polling works will result in the temporary closure of St Audries to Doniford, West Quantoxhead, for one day.

Somerset Council made the order to be in place from the road’s junction with Williton to Bridgwater Road, heading north-eastward for a total distance of 907 metres.

The works are expected to commence on on Monday, November 10, between the hours of 9am and 5pm, lasting a total of eight hours.
