WILLITON residents are being asked to give their views on proposals by Somerset County Council to move the town’s library and registration services into West Somerset Council’s offices.

The proposals are part of plans to bring several public services under one roof in hubs across the county.

And members of the public are invited to drop-in sessions being held in Williton this month to give their views and ask questions.

Somerset County Council is gathering feedback about moving Williton’s library in Killick Way and registration services on Bridge Street to a shared ground floor location at West Somerset House.

The county council says this will help protect services for the future by reducing costs and, by sharing space with partners like district councils, residents can get all the help they might need in one place.

Proposals are being considered for similar schemes across the county, and a decision about the move is due in September.
