PUPILS returned on Monday (December 1) to Danesfield Middle School, in Williton, after a norovirus outbreak saw it closed for a day the previous Friday.
A deep clean was carried out to remove any traces of what is known as the ‘winter vomiting bug’ which affected pupils and staff.
The 360 pupils aged between nine and 13 years were told they would be remotely educated at home.
However, parents of year seven pupils were told to keep their children at home for a further day due to staffing shortages in the school.
A spokesperson for Beacon Education Trust, which runs Danesfield and several other schools and nurseries, said it would be fully open again on Tuesday.
Danesfield was the second local school to be struck by norovirus after Brymore Academy, in Cannington, was closed for two days the previous week.
