SIR — I was really pleased to see the newly-completed adult education centre in Williton open last week and duly went along to see for myself exactly what was on offer.

The staff were excited to be in the new premises and all visitors were greeted with enthusiasm, information and a cup of coffee.

Two days later I was so disappointed to be contacted by a member of staff from the centre to be told both the courses I had chosen had been cancelled due to lack of support.

A course can be run by just eight people attending, though more are needed to make it viable. There must be others in the locality who would like to write articles or learn to use a digital cameral well.

People will complain and form action groups when this facility is forced to close. We are lucky to have the new purpose-built premises and we must make the most of them.

With my chosen course on article writing, I could probably write a better letter to the Free Press - watch this space.
