ARTIST John Carnac's work will be seen by generations as his watercolour depicting Minehead seafront has been chosen to be hung in the Town Hall.
And until Wednesday, August 9, it can be seen at the Minehead Painters Group summer exhibition at the St John Ambulance Hall, in North Road.
John was the £100 winner of a competition run by Minehead Painters Group to mark the millennium.
The ten entries were judged by a panel of three including Cllr Stan Taylor who came up with the idea when he opened last year's exhibition.
This year's exhibition was opened on Friday by Exmoor National Park officer Dr Nigel Stone and can be viewed between 10am and 5.30pm each day until 2pm on Wednesday.
Among the 200 paintings on display is a hand-painted silk scarf by Mithra Richardson for which a draw will be held at the end of the exhibition.
Another competition is being organised by vice-chairman Nikki Archer, who will present her own prize to the writer of the best 50-word analysis of a particular painting.
Pictured are chairman Geoff Gilham, who is due to hand over office to Kate Pavey, with Dr Stone in the centre and prolific Exmoor artist Robin Haynes on the right.
