A NEW vision for Exmoor’s rural economy will be revealed at an event for local businesses and organisations to be held at Knowle Manor, Timberscombe, on Tuesday, November 23, it was announced this week.

The event, sponsored by rural broadband provider Airband, will showcase a new Exmoor rural enterprise aimed at building community wealth, creating opportunities for entrepreneurs to develop their ideas and helping the environment to recover.

A spokesman said: “The new vision follows extensive research and consultation with local business and organisations, commissioned by a partnership including the district and county councils, business groups, the National Park Authority and the local enterprise partnership.

“At the free workshop, taking place between 3.30pm and 7pm, delegates will have the chance to discuss the new vision and network with various other businesses, support organisations and policy makers.”

Dan James, Exmoor National Park rural enterprise manager, said: “Many organisations have a role to play in supporting our communities, businesses and landscapes, and so it has been great to see various partners and stakeholders coming together to agree this vision for such a special place.

“We are excited to share it, and to develop the ideas to benefit businesses right across the board, while conserving the special qualities of the National Park.”
