DUNSTER'S historic tithe barn celebrated the completion of an ambitious £450,000 restoration at the official opening of the revamped building yesterday (Thursday). The Grade two listed 16th century structure has been given a new lease of life and converted to a multi-use community centre. And although it is has been well used by a number of groups and organisations for a range of events over the last few months, the official opening provided an opportunity for those who have been the driving force behind the project to mark their achievement. The restoration, co-ordinated by the Somerset Building Preservation Trust, attracted a raft of grant aid, including funding of just under £300,000 from the Heritage Lottery.
