MINEHEAD Gardening Club’s annual flower show is back on, after an enforced absence of two years.

It will take place on Saturday August 13 from 2pm to 5.30pm.

West Somerset College, Bircham Road, Minehead, once again plays host to this flagship event. Admission costs £1 per adult, and is free for accompanied children under 16.

Open to all exhibitors and sponsored by local businesses, there are 90 classes across seven categories, which include vegetables, fruit, flowers. home craft, handicrafts, visual arts and a children’s section.

In addition to prize money, there are 30 Challenge Cups to be won, including the Minehead Town Cup presented to the exhibitor amassing the most points in competition.

Entry fee per class is 40p, or free for under 16s. Entry forms and show schedules containing all rules and relevant details are available from Minehead Library, Minehead Tourist Information Centre, West Somerset Garden Centre, Alcombe Post Office, Butterflies Cafe, Carhampton Post Office and Porlock Library.

The deadline for entries is 3pm on Friday, August 5.
