A TRIAL to ‘deep clean’ a Minehead street proved such a success that it could now be rolled out across the town.

Minehead Town Council co-ordinated the project and teamed up with Somerset Council and its street cleansing contractor idverde UK to carry out the work after being approached by residents in Fownes Road, Alcome.

Town clerk Ben Parker said: “To make sure the team could access the whole street safely and effectively, a temporary parking restriction was put in place.

“This was a trial approach using this type of measure and we will now be looking at how we can roll this out more widely across the town where needed.”

Mr Parker said the co-operation of residents helped the clean-up to go smoothly and successfully.
