A MINEHEAD community transport scheme says it’s “struggling” following the retirement of two drivers.
The initiative is now seeking new volunteers to meet client demand.
Re-established in 2023, the Minehead Community Car Scheme has taken roughly 400 clients on hospital trips each year.
A spokesperson for the group said: “Getting to Musgrove or other hospitals for medical appointments is very difficult by bus if you have medical issues, and although taxi drivers are very helpful it can cost around £100 return and more if the driver waits for you.
“We have recently had two drivers retire and are struggling now to provide lifts for client requests.”
The transport scheme is asking for anyone in the Minehead, Dunster or Carhampton areas to get in touch.
